Not a number I’ve previously been keen on! And hardly the most famous of numbers, however, good old Wiki informs me; 58 is the lowest score in an 18 hole round of Golf on the PGA tour, scored by Jim Furyk in 2016 and that 58 is the most points ever scored in the fourth quarter of an NBA game, by the Buffalo Braves against the Boston Celtics in 1972.

And, err, well that’s about it! Until now …

MTech are delighted to be included in this year’s Northern Tech Awards Top 100 of the fastest growing Tech companies in the North and I enjoyed a fantastic evening at The Boiler Shop in Newcastle at the awards ceremony, meeting a lot of fabulous people, all passionate about their business and the role tech plays in driving the Northern powerhouse forward.

Less than nine years after starting out (at the very start of the recession!) to now be growing at such a healthy rate and be included in tables such as this, does make all the hard work worth it.

Attaining our Microsoft Gold Partner status last year was very rewarding, again borne through a lot of hard work and collective input from our fantastic team of technicians and support staff. Working to garner relationships with our increasing number of clients and see them benefit from our advice and support is equally rewarding, as is improving our team by helping them through their Apprenticeships and accreditations (40% of our team have already gained their MCSE certification and the rest are well on their way).

We work hard, every day, to ensure we do things right; for our team and for our clients, providing every single one with excellent pro-active support, informed management advice and sound business strategy. To get recognised for this, is a real boost to us all and only makes us want to help more businesses in the same way.

Oh, did I mention where we came?

58th. My new favourite number!
